I have created a PowerPoint on the costumes in which I intend my characters to wear throughout the soap trailer. I think that they work well and are simple. I didn't want to over complicate the outfits because I want the audience to remember the characters and by what they are wearing will help.

I have decided to use "Mt Eden Dubstep - Prodigy : Omen (Bootleg)" as the background music for my soap trailer. I have decided to use this tune as I feel that the tempo is not too fast but has an eerie upbeat feel to it. As my soap trailer is based around teenagers, the tune goes well. Its a tune which most teenagers are familar with. It can come across as negative, but is still fast and loud. It is perfect for the mood of our soap trailer.

I have decided to use this clip of Waterloo Road as the main influence to my soap trailer. As I want my soap trailer to be based in a school like Waterloo Road, I looked at the clips from Waterloo Road. I found this clip the best and thought that it would capture their audience. Even though the clip only lasts 21 seconds it still gets across to the audience its aims.

When I create my soap trailer, I want it to last around 30 seconds to 1 minute.

I have created a script for my soap trailer. But once I had started filming, I realised the storylines were too long so I decided to start my script again. I have still included this script on my blog because it still could come into use throughout my planning and maybe into my filming

I have decided to research into Waterloo Road because I feel that it is very relevent to my own trailer. I have decided to base my soap trailer on Waterloo Road and call it Nangreave Road. Nangreave Road is going to be based in and around my very own college and as Waterloo Road is based in and around a school, I felt that I could use it as my main influence. The trailers and titles work really well.

My Idea For My Soap Trailer

To create my soap trailer I have created 5 narratives. This is where there are 5 different parts to the trailer which are relevent to soaps.

I researched into soaps such as Coronation Street, Eastenders, Hollyoaks and Emmerdale. I also looked into the school drama series of Waterloo Road.

The 5 narratives which I will be focussing my Soap Trailer on are:
- Abortion
- Drug abuse
- Fights and arguments
- Teenage marriage scene
- Smoking

I have decided to choose these 5 narratives as they are relevent to everyday life. I have also watched several soaps and storylines like these seem to appear in other soaps.

I am going to base my Soap Trailer in a school and use teenagers as the characters in my trailer.

As part of my planning I decided to research into different soaps and sitcoms. I looked at the soaps Eastenders and Coronation Street. I decided to choose these two soaps because they are the most successful and they have good titles at the start of the soap. I also researched into the comedy sitcom The Inbetweeners. I looked at their trailer as part of my e4 research and how it worked well.

My Decision

As part of my A Level grade I need to create either a Soap Trailer or Music Video.
I have decided to create a Soap Trailer. I decided to do this because I feel that filming and creating the ancillaries to go with my main product would work much better than a Music Video.
I am very interested in Soaps and I enjoy watching them in my spare time.

For my ancillaries I will create a billboard, a soap magazine front cover and a poster. This will all help to promote my Soap Trailer.
